Glencoe Tour and Beyond!

Overview

An amazing day out, heading for and returning from the Iconic Glencoe. We will visit a beautiful Castle at Inverary, well worth going into. A ruin of a castle that I know as the biscuit castle, a Church that was listed as awesome and then the mighty Glencoe.. this is a BIG day out, whatever the weather!

Pick up is sharp, 9am we have a big day ahead of us.

1st Stop - Luss, Loch Lomond

Luss - Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Hailed as the most beautiful village in Scotland is the conservation village of Luss, nestled on the banks of Loch Lomond. The quaint church here was built on a pagan site with Viking Hogback graves.

2nd Stop - Rest & Be Thankful

A great viewpoint with a whole lot of history.. we will stop for a picture and to stretch our legs!

3rd Stop - Inverary Castle

A Gem of a Castle, still occupied by the Duke & Duchess of Argyle. The tour is recommended and you will get lots of history!

The Castle has featured recently in a TV Series called The Diplomat (well worth a watch).

Also a good place to get lunch, so that we can continue with the tour reasonably promptly, still lots to see.

4th Stop - Kilchurn Castle

The biscuit tin castle - I’ll explain on the tour!

It’s now a ruin, but a very photogenic one. A short easy flat walk (weather permitting) takes you to the castle, again lots of history.

5th Stop - St Conans Kirk

Another Campbell legacy, once voted in the top 10 architectural buildings in Scotland no less!.

A famous person or part of him is in here. Magnificent views from out of the back over the loch.

6th Stop - The BIG One - Glencoe

Everyone has knowledge of Glencoe. It’s famous all over the world. Just go and see it, soak up the atmosphere, (I think its better when its miserable weather - drizzle and Bag Pipes - wow!.

Just add imagination and the hairs should stand up on the back your neck. We will stop at the best view points for pictures and create some great memories.

It truly is an amazing place.

7th and last Stop - Hairy Coos!

Has to be done, Hairy Coos and the last picture stop… everybody loves these too!.
